Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-23
These Terms govern your use of privacmodes.top (the “Service”). By creating an account, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1) Service scope
The Service provides user-consented privacy controls and notifications for your household’s own devices and accounts. You must only use the Service on devices, networks, and accounts you own or are authorized to administer.
2) Acceptable use (no covert monitoring)
- No unauthorized access, interception, or circumvention of security, accounts, or services.
- No covert monitoring, stalking, or surveillance of others (including family members) without valid authorization and required consent.
- No use that violates applicable law, infringes rights, or facilitates wrongdoing.
3) Accounts, security, and user responsibility
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure. You are responsible for configuring the Service appropriately and for ensuring you have any permissions needed to run it in your environment.
4) Paid plans, renewals, and cancellation
If you purchase a subscription, the price, billing cycle (including any recurring charges), payment method/timing, service delivery timing, and cancellation/refund rules are presented during checkout and at the final order confirmation step, in accordance with the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (Act No. 57 of June 4, 1976). You can cancel as described in your account settings or the checkout terms. Unless required by law or expressly stated at purchase, fees are non-refundable.
5) Compatibility, operating environment, and limitations
Features may depend on device model, OS version, network conditions, permissions, and third-party platform changes. Alerts, detections, and privacy-status indicators may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. You are responsible for maintaining a supported operating environment and following any stated requirements.
6) No warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect or prevent all privacy or security events. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights under the Consumer Contract Act (Act No. 61 of May 12, 2000).
7) Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the Service, software, and related content. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your internal household purposes. You must not reverse engineer or misuse the Service except where permitted by applicable law.
8) User content and feedback
If you submit feedback, you grant us the right to use it to improve the Service without obligation to you. If you upload or share content, you represent you have the rights to do so and it complies with these Terms.
9) Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is a violation of these Terms, a security risk, or unlawful use. You may stop using the Service at any time; if you have a subscription, cancellation takes effect as described at purchase or in your account settings.
10) Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability for claims related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or JPY 10,000 if greater). These limitations apply only to the extent permitted by the Consumer Contract Act (Act No. 61 of May 12, 2000) and do not exclude liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence where exclusion is not allowed.
11) No affiliation
privacmodes.top is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any device manufacturer, platform provider, or telecom operator unless explicitly stated.
12) Changes
We may update these Terms. If changes materially affect your rights, we will provide reasonable notice (e.g., via the Service or email). Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
13) Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court, unless mandatory consumer protections provide otherwise.
